Connecting Google Calendar to Claude
Claude can read your calendar and answer questions about your week in plain English. Here is how to connect it, and what it will not do for a studio.
By Soundbooked on August 1, 2026

Studio work fills a calendar quickly. Sessions, holds, the mix you promised on Friday, the day you swore you would not be at the studio. If you already use Claude, connecting your Google Calendar lets you ask about all of it in plain English instead of scrolling a month view.
Connecting it
- Open claude.ai in a browser, or the Claude desktop app, and go to Settings, then Connectors.
- Find Google Calendar and click Connect.
- Sign in to the Google account that holds your calendar and allow the permissions it asks for.
That is the whole setup. No Google Cloud project, no API keys, nothing to install.
If Google Calendar is not in your connector list, it is either not available on your plan or, on Team and Enterprise accounts, an owner has not switched it on for the organisation yet.
What to ask it
Once it is connected you just ask, and Claude works out when it needs to look at your calendar. Try questions like:
- What does Thursday look like?
- Where are my free three-hour blocks next week?
- Am I double-booked anywhere this month?
- How many sessions were booked in June?
It tells you which events it used to answer, so you can check its work rather than trust it.
Making changes
The connector can write as well as read. It will create events, move them and cancel them when you ask. Ask it to tell you what it is about to change before it changes anything, at least for the first week, because it acts on what it heard rather than what you meant. What it is allowed to write depends on your Google permissions and, on a work account, your organisation's connector settings.
What it will not do
Nothing happens on its own. There are no triggers. Claude does not react to a booking landing in your inbox or a cancellation coming through. It looks at your calendar when a question needs it, and not otherwise.
It cannot see calendars you cannot see. It works within your own Google access, so a calendar you were never shared on stays invisible.
It is not booking software
Claude reading your calendar does not stop anyone booking your room. To make your own commitments block Soundbooked availability you connect Google Calendar separately, per room, in your studio settings. We wrote that up in connecting Google Calendar to Soundbooked. That sync runs both ways: your busy time blocks bookings, and confirmed sessions appear in your calendar.
Set that up first. Use the Soundbooked sync for availability and Claude for the questions.
Turning it off
Go back to the Connectors screen, find Google Calendar and click Disconnect. To revoke the access on Google's side as well, open myaccount.google.com/connections, find Claude and remove it there.
